NOVA VITA’S philosophy is to make premium quality, striving for low intervention, with a focus on fruit and elegance. Sustainable practices are employed in both the vineyard and winery. After 2 years of research the Kozned family chose to establish in the Adelaide Hills. Seeking the perfect region to grow cool climate varieties with a particular love affair for Pinot Noir and alternative varieties. In 1999 Mark and family planted the Woodlands Ridge Vineyard in Gumeracha, following by the acquisition of the Tunnel Hill Vineyard in 2008, and in 2011 the purchase of the old Nepenthe Winery.

The family tradition of growing grapes dates back to the end of the second world war in Southern Russia. The Kozned family established a large vineyard in the Caucasus region and producing premium quality Shiraz. The Firebird, and other ranges pay homage to the tradition and family wine grape growing heritage.
